  1. Isn’t the Latin grammar a bit funny here? Exempli gratia is ablative, right (‘for the sake of an example’)? Singular nominative, required by the English framing grammar, would be exemplum gratis, I believe. If he got rid of the “as” in the final sentence, it would scan grammatically.

  2. I believe we can allow for some discrepancy between our common tongue, and the language of the Gods.

    I understand your point, it’d be more correct with a straight nominative. And, I go nuts every time I hear people order one “Muffins” cupcake, when they’re in fact just ordering only one. I care, but I don’t think anyone else ever noticed ..
